nexus dental laboratory flies the flag for The British Bite Mark

It was a huge honour to have been presented with an award for Innovation and Support in Promoting British Dental Technology by the Dental Laboratories Association President, Jonathan Bill at the British Dental Association Awards ceremony on Saturday evening.
BDA Awards 2015 British Bite Mark nexus dental
Steve Campbell receiving his award from Jonathan Bill at the BDA Awards Ceremony.
This year the awards ceremony and dinner closed off their highly successful Congress, and saw professionals from all sectors of dentistry awarded for their efforts in providing the public with dental excellence.
Stephen Hancocks OBE, was a fantastic Master of Ceremonies, and kept the whole event entertaining and interesting.
The work of The British Bite Mark initiative was acknowledged for promoting British Dental Technology, and the patient benefits that come with work produced within our well regulated and monitored British dental profession.
I hope everyone can be as proud of British Dental Technology as I was to hear that all this effort has recently secured the return of over £8,000,000 of work to UK dental laboratories.
The British Bite Mark has been a fantastic initiative, but only because it has been adopted by so many who all believe in the value of Great British Dental Technology and the Great British Dentistry it supports for UK patients.
Thanks to the hard work of everyone in this public awareness campaign we have seen the acceptance and adoption of this as a standard by many practices that believe in providing the public with medical devices that are carefully created and monitored within one of (if not the most) stringently regulated dental sector in the world.
Jonathan Bill, did a fantastic job of relaying the story of the fantastic work carried out by GDC registered technicians working in UK labs to ensure that when a patient and surgeon choose The British Bite Mark, they have the assurance and peace of mind that comes with choosing to stay within this highly regulated system to ensure maximum patient safety.
We’ve all made a huge commitment to putting the patient first, and I feel honoured to have been allowed to take part in this campaign alongside some of the best people I have ever met in my life (from any profession)
The Dental Laboratories Association have worked long and hard to get this initiative from a small initial campaign, to one that has been adopted Nationally, and is now getting International interest.
It will be no surprise that the first thing we did upon opening nexus dental laboratory was to become a DLA member, followed very closely by being a British Bite Mark Laboratory.
The next step for the laboratory will be DAMAS accreditation.
I'm very proud of the great work that has been carried out in raising the public awareness of Great British Dentistry, and the support it gets from Great British Dental Technology.

Nexus Dental - The next stage of my career

I’m proud to announce the latest exciting stage of my life journey

As many people are now aware I have decided that it’s time for a fresh start, and I would like to share this with you.

But first I would like to thank all my family, friends, colleagues and companies that have offered me so much help and support since my announcement, it has meant an incredible amount to me to get all the offers of backing and support.

I’ve always had a great passion for dental technology because of the true and meaningful difference we make to peoples lives with the work we do in collaboration with the rest of the highly skilled dental team

For me the core of this is the cooperation, communication and extremely high skill set that is involved within the dental team.

Because of this, there could only be one name for my new company

Nexus

To me this name is key to what great dental technology really is. Great communication betweens a connected group focussed on ensuring the best patient outcomes possible. Through my upcoming lecture, training, consultancy and management system implementation engagements I hope to share the knowledge that can assist us and allow us to all focus on the most important factor in any dental restoration. The patient.

Further to this goal, I am currently involved in plans to provide a completely new dental laboratory, which is completely digital, and does not use the traditional wax and cast methods at all on site.

Because of this I am currently looking for highly skilled ceramists to join a very skilled and open team of professionals. The role will allow a great deal of patient interaction as well as the opportunity to work closely with surgeons on an equal professional level, all with the goal of offering truly exceptional patient outcomes.

There will be fantastic support and continued commitment to the best training available, both in the UK and abroad.

I look forward to catching up with everyone at the DTS next week, and will post up news on the latest training dates and lectures over the coming weeks.
